Since Iwahara and coworkers (1) first discovered that Yb doped-SrCeO3 (SCYb) perovskite materials exhibit appreciable electronic and protonic conduction in hydrogen-containing atmosphere at high temperatures, this type of materials have received great interest for potential applications such as hydrogen production from steam electrolysis (1), hydrogen separation from hydrogen containing gas mixtures (2), hydrogen sensor devices (3) and membrane reactors (4). Recently we successfully prepared SrCe0.95Tb0.05O3-d (SCT) membranes by wet-chemical method. This paper reports the methane dehydrogenation results using this SCT membrane in a membrane reactor.
