Palladium alloy membranes can be used for the purification of hydrogen from water-gas-shift (WGS) mixture streams, leaving the carbon dioxide (CO2) pressurized for sequestration or other utilization. Industrially useful lifetime of the membranes is several years and the DOE 2015 membrane performance target is lifetime of 5 years. In this work we will present the test conditions for rapid qualitative evaluation for membrane durability over ~100 hours.
