Farm's Mother, Farm's Center, V-ETIC and More

In 1996 Joan Sanmartfn and Carlos Pijoan, created Optimal Pork Production as a pig production advisory group based in Spain. In 2010, convinced that the Animal Welfare (AW) principles had "come to stay", OPP evolved from a traditional health advisorygroup, to a multi role advisory group, bringing on board new staff, and a Software department. In the next year a 3300 sow Site 1 "School & demonstration Farm" was constructed. It also started its international activities, designing and promoting intelligent welfare friendly farms and their technologies, in various countries around the world. After studying multiple options, OPP group chose Electronic Feeding Station (EFS) as the option of choice between all the systems that adapted to AW legislation. This, imposes the challenge of inputting the farms data into two different software's. This was the driving force to develop a single software platform, for sow units, the Farm's Mother (FM).
