UO_2 corrosion in high surface-area-to-volume batch experiments

摘要

The corrosion of UO_2 at 90 deg C in high surface-area-to-solution-volume batch experiments produces solid U(VI) phases similar to those observed in unsaturated drip tests on UO_2 and spent UO_2 fuel.These experiments make it possible to correlate changes in solution chemistry with the formation of specific corrosion products,and they provide a method for understanding the compositional evolution of water films in contact with solids in unsaturated drip tests on spent fuel.
