摘要

Swelling deformation tests of compacted bentonite,a buffer for geological disposal of high-level radioactive waste,proved that its swelling deformation depends on the initial dry density and overburden pressure.In addition,a simplified equation to calculate swelling volumetric strains of bentonite was theoretically formulated,which gives values in good agreement with those obtained from tests.
