Modeling fast pathways using isotopic tracers at Yucca Mountain,Nevada

Field investigations of environmental isotopic tracers at Yucca Mountain,Nevada,have revealed the presence of fast pathways for moisture flow from the land surface to the level of the potential high-level radioactive waste repository in less than 40 years~1,2.Under what conditions these pathways form,and the quantities of flux transported,are currently unknown.
