Fuzzy modeling and control are applied to a blast furnace process with four nonidentical stoves. The process is nonlinear and time-varying, and it is incompletely specified, since many variables cannot be economically monitored. The work on this project is divided in three main phases: (1) system modeling, (2) real-time control, and (3) system optimization. The system model contains dynamic linear and static nonlinear elements.
