Point of care detection of HIV-an tibodies and HIV-RNA using IDA -electrodes

A portable device for the point of care detection of HIV antibodies and the HIV viral load in patient sera have been developed.Onbasis of silicon chips of arrays of gold thinfilm ultramicro electrodes HIV antibodies labeeled with #beta#-galactosidase and DNA copies of HIV viral RNA labeld with alcaline phosphatase are deteceted.The detection was made by redox recycling of the enzyme product p-aminophnenol using a multi channel decvice.Correlation coefficients of 0.96 for the viral antibodies and better than 0.99 for the viral RNA compared to commercial reference methods have been obtained.
