Gravimetric and non-gravimetric chemical quartz crystal resonators

摘要

Quartz crystal resonators in chemical sensing applications are usually assumed to work as a pure gravimetric sensor.This assumption is restricted to coating materials,which respond to the probing acoustic wave lide a rigid material.In all other cases also viscoelastic properties of the chemically sensitive layer contribute to the sensor response.The resistance in the motional arm of the equivalent circuit cna act as an indicator of the viscoelastic contribution.
