Process Control Developments of Powder Material Processing in the Manufacture of Refractories

This paper describes two decades of development by BHP Refractories in the receival, preparation and batching of a number of raw materials that comprise their range of refractory products. The company has bills of materials for their products including materials that range in size from run of mine coarse through to ball mill components.
