Biomedical engineering has been making major contributions across a broad spectrum of research, development and applications - from fundamental biomedical research to delivery of health care. The field includes, among others, such specialties as biomedical imaging, biomechanics, biosensors, bioprocess engineering, clinical engineering, biomaterials, tissue engineering, health care technology assessment and other areas.
