The assistive manipulators have been introduced in rehabilitation engineering more than ten years ago. For the independent living of elderly people, such assistive manipulators will be great benefit to do various kinds of housework. The problem is user interface for the elderly. Joy sticks are mostly used to control the manipulator for industrial uses, but the elderly persons are not familiar. Myoelectrical control has been studied but this is a rather invasive. One solution is voice command. Using thismethod, the elderly perosn can tell what he wants the manipulator to do, as if he/she asks a careperson. Even this method is incovenient, for example, to point the location in the room. A pointing device in the real space is needed.
