摘要

New method for the production of high performance Al-Li alloy by molten salt electrolysis was studied. This method shortens the whole process from the source of Li to producing Al-Li alloy and reduces the cost of production. In this method, LiCl and Li_2CO_3 were used as the electrolyte and the source of Li. Lithium was introduced into molten Al cathode electrolytically with high current efficiency, and the alloy was very clean and high quality. Li_2CO_3 reacted with carbon at the anode and the exhaust was almost CO_2, and did not affect to cathode alloy by using micropor-ous Al_2O_3 crucible as an anode compartment. These results indicates that the method proposed is very effective for producing high quality Al-Li alloy with low cost.
