This paper analyses the cavern stability in thejointed granite mass. Also, the influence of the excavation onthe surface subsidence and groundwater resources is discussed.The calculations were evaluated by numerical modeling, usingtwo- and three-dimensional models. Rock properties wereestimated from geological data by Bieniawski's rock mass rating.By optimum parameters of the cavern, the harmful influence onthe environment is negligible.
