Selective Flocculation experiments wereconducted on Seyit6rner thermic power plant's fuel, lignite usingpolystyrene latex, produced in the laboratory by emulsionpolymerisation. Sample, taken from power plant boiler, wassieved into different size fractions and –0.063 mm fraction wereused in the experiments. Studies were carried out by varying thepolymer and dispersant dosage, solids concentration, pulp pH,and the conditioning times of dispersant and flocculant. Atoptimum conditions a clean lignite product was obtained,assaying 24.77 percent ash content with 79.83 percent combustible recovery.
