摘要

This paper proposes a model of the kinematic vehicular behavior in proximity of a signalised intersection, of the relative emissions and atmospheric concentrations of polluting gases (CO, VOC, NO_x) in different environmental conditions (open field or street canyon). Afterwards some strategies are suggested by the model application, to minimize the polluting emissions and their negative effects: the reduction of the cycle time, the signal coordination and the relocation of the queues from narrow road segments to wide ones.
