Different numerical approaches are used to simulate the flow around wind turbines and the generation of aerodynamic noise which is the major topic of this paper. The noise prediction is always based on an accurate flow simulation. This can involve Navier-Stokes simulations or panel methods depending on the noise mechanism under consideration. The first form the basis for a newly developed model for trailing-edge noise while the latter are used to tackle inflow-turbulence noise. Results of Navier-Stokes simulations are presented together with noise predictions. The latter are compared to measurements and a good agreement is found.
