Enabling technologies for high performance computing

High-performance computing has made a number of changes over the last few years. Wide area computer networks have become a basic part of today's computing infrastructure. These networks connect a variety of machines, presenting an enormous computing resource. In this talk we look at the state of High Performance computing and some of the tools which allow a programmer to tap into these resources.
