A true VOD system according to the DAVIC specification is presented, with its network archtiecture and componet. There are three system flows in the system, One is the video information flow from the server to STB in the data channel, the other two run in the control channel between STB, level 1 gateway and level 2 gateway. The control protocol is also detailed.
