PREPARATION FOR ACCELERATOR-BASED TRITIUM PRODUCTION AT THE SAVANNAH RIVER SITE

SRS is in partnership with LANL and BREI/GA in a project to design, construct, commission, and operate the APT for DOE. SRS is providing the O&M support to the design as well leading the environmental and permitting efforts for the project. In addition, SRS is building core competency by supplying personnel to support the ED&D efforts and important design authority areas. SRS is also providing the interfaces for site services and utilities as well as building support for APT within the local communities through frequent interactions. This paper describes the scope and strategy being pursued in these efforts.
