Quantifying environmental implications of alternative oil spill contingency and response plans

摘要

This paper suggests some simple and robust physical, chemical, and toxicological measures of mitigation success. More in-depth measures and analyses for unusually sensitivie environemtnal issues can then support these first-order measures. Examples applications are carried out with the SINTEF Oil Spill Contingency and Response (OSCARII model system. The methodology supplies an objective basis for net environemtnal analysis of planned response strategies.
