The tribological performances of the composite package of the N-containing compound modified borate and zine dialkly dithiophosphates(ZDDP) were investigated using four-ball tester. The results show that the amount of ZDDP additive could affect on the extreme-pressure and antiwear properties of the composite package. The synergistic effect mechanism was observed when the amount of ZDDP is equal to or more than 0.50wt.%. In compare with ZDDP additive alone, the friction coefficient of the composite package have not reduced obviously, but the octodecyl amine salt of benzotriazole (ASBT) could improved the antiwear and antifriction properties of the composite package obviously. The wear surface analyses indicated that the composite package could form a tribochemical mixed film on the rubbing surface, which consists of BN, phosphate, sulphides, sulphates, oxidate. The chemical states and the content of elements of S, O, N and B have change with changing the thickness of the mixed triochemical film. The wear surface is smoothly. The content of elements of S, P and Zn is higher, and N and Na is lower, but the distributions is uniformer.
