The research of temperature characteristic of the boundary lubricating film

The lubricity of boundary film is one of the most important characteristic of lubricating oil; Selecting a proper method to evaluation the lubricity of boundary film is very important， usually, the critical load or critical speed was used as criterion, Because neither load nor speed is the physical parameter of lubricating oil himself; They are not direct relation with physical-chemical property of lubricating-oil, so that the test result hadn't good uniform between the different test condition. Resulting in this unsuitable situation is because we could not understood what is the direct and basic reason of boundary lubricating film failure. This paper shows: it is the rise of temperature on friction surface.
