Improvement of Secondary Cooling Control by On-Line Temperature Calculation

For the on-line calculation of the temperature field within the strand of a slab caster a special taylor made integration routine was developed and integrated in the dynamic cooling package, DYNACS~circleR. For the verification of the model temperature measurements with optical pyrometers on various places in a caster were performed. To support the metallurgist in his effort to specify his cooling know-how various cooling strategies are include in DYNACS~circle R.
