In this research study, the effects of temperature compensation in the tundish using plasma heating are physically and mathematically simulated. A Dimensionless Plasma Heating Number was developed in order to satify the thermal similarity criteria and simulate tundish heating operations in a non-isothermal water model using a steam jet blown on to the surface. The experimental results are interpreted through a turbuent #kappa#-#epsilon# mathematical simulation.
