In this research study ,the effects of temperaturecompensation in the tundish using plasma heating are physicallyand mathematically simulated .A Dimensionless Plasma HeatingNumber was developed in order to satify the thermal similaritycriteria and simulate tundish heating operations in a non-isothermal water model using a steam jet blown on to thesurface .The experimental results are interpreted through aturbuent к-εmathematical simulation.The objetives were to study ,using a water model .theheat transfer and fluid flow in a tundish heated byplasma ,to analyze the effects of temperature changeon the flow in the system when the steel is beingreheated and to study the effectiveness of temperatureconpensation and controlabillity.
