Birth, Death, and Dormancy: Implications of Living Systems theory for a Unified Korean Society

Korea existed a fully-functioning society for over a thousand yers, but its current status as a living system is equivocal. Is the society of Korea dead, divided, or dormant? If it is dormant or comatose, what assistance does it require either for maintenance until it emerge from sleep or to revive it fro mthe coma? Ifit is divided into two societies, cna those socienties be merged back into the original single society? If it is dead, are there former componenets still in existence that would facilitate the process of reconstruction? are the nations of North and South Korea such components, or are they new societies that may interfere with a reirth of Korea? And if a rebirth is necessary, what difficulties may be anticipated in the processes of conception andestation? This paper first explores the stges of conception, gestation, dormancy, incapacity, and death of living systems. It then appies these concepts to an analysis of te current status of Korea as a soiety and the prospects for unifying Korea. Finally, suggestions are offered for the unification proess.
