The ultrahigh-pressure melamorphic (UHPM) rocks from the Dabie and Su-Lu region comprise the central belt of the collisional orogenic belt between the Sino-Korean and Yangtze Cratons. Most of these UHPM rocks are derived from supracontinental materials. Compression between the well studied UHPM belts in the world show that UHPM rocks from the Dabie and Su-Lu region formed during collision event, then experienced retrograded metamorphism when they were exhumed. The Triassic collision event united the lithosphere of the Sino-Korean and Yangtze Cratons into one. The mountain root was cut off by mantle convection erosion in Jurassic. This has resulted in the exhumation of the UHPM rocks, as well as the accumulation of molasse and early granite intrusion and late mafic intrusion.
