Tectonic Correlation of the Precambrian Evolution of the North China Craton with the Baltic Shield

The nature and model of evolution process of the early continental crust is an important one of the frontiers in modern geoscience. The resemblance of major events in tectonic evolution for separated continental blocks in correlation for instance the North China Craton and Baltic Shield is very sensitive to paleoreconstruction in understanding the geodynamic paradigm in early evolution history of the earth. The North China (also called Sino-Korean) Craton is a main tectonic unit in China, as a huge faulting block surrounded by some sets of different in age fault systems. The Archean various rock assemblages in China mostly occur within it in scattering distribution due to the Meso-Cenozoic intraplate tectonic deformation, caused by the collisional consumption of the Asian and Pacific plates to the east. In the north of Shanxi Province and southern central Inner Mongolia a stratigraphic unconformity revealed divides the Archean granulite fades metamorphic rock sections into two parts in succession: Gehuyao Grey Gneiss Complex and its overlying Fengzhen Group of khondalite suite sedimentary cover to indicate the existence of Late Archean cratonization in age~2.7Ga. This Late Archean major event is well in correlation in central and southern realms of the Craton. It very resembles the Archean cratonic region after Lopian Orogeny in northern Baltic Shield. Soon after the platform regime the Early Proterozoic rifting and the Mid Proterozoic aulacogen rifting system are in age in intervals before 2.0G and ~ 1.7-l.OGa respectively for both continental blocks. These major tectonic events in Precambrian evolution of the two Cratons may be correlated in global scale with time and with neighbouring continental blocks as well. The major tectonic events of earth evolution succeeding in time, thickening cratonic crust and other general problems of evolution of the continental growth in Precambrian are to be discussed.
