摘要

Prevention of endogenous fires is a continuouspreoccupation of the researchers of the National Institute ofSafety in Mine and Explosion Protection (INSEMEX) Petrosani.A new direction has been taken in this regard since the 80 sbased on the inhibition of oxidation phenoenon, against theconventional one, based on the cooling effect of antipyrogenous substances.The research was founded on the new theories and hypotheseson self-oxidation of coals. The first successful trials we obtainedwith inorganic inhibitors of phosphate class, the methods oftheir application being also tested unlergronnd Subsequentresearch broadened the range of inhibiting substances, superiorresults being obtained in laboratory conditions.The use of inorganic inhibitors widens the range of means andmethods of self-heating/self-ignitions phenomena, resulting inthe increase of safety in coal mine workings.
