The airborne sound insulation of windows is determined on the basis of the results of laboratory tests conducted according to ISO 140 standard [1].The draft of the European Standard [2] being prepared at the moment presents the calculation models which allows to estimate the reduction of outdoor noise by facades of buildings on the bases of the sound reduction index of the relevant elements. In theAnnex B to the Standard we find all the necessary data for carrying out such calculations in the case of windows. Nevertheless a question arises whether the results of calculations conducted in is way will be consistent with the actual acoustic parameters of the windows?
