摘要

The objective of this study is to develop a method for estimating crack growth behavior of ceramic composite, Al_2O_3/ SiC_w . Detailed measurement of crack opening displacements and crack length during stable crack extension in granite and Al_2O_3 / SiC_w are measured by moire interferometry. Stress relaxation around crack tip is analyzed by a trial and error method. The estimation methods which can predict crack extension versus crack grow resistance and applied load versus crack extension are obtained using granite. Finally, the estimation method developed in this study is applied to Al_2O_3 / SiC_w . Good agreement between experimental data and analysis are observed.
