In this paper the results are presented of a research activity aimed at minimising the vibration at earth-moving machine and off-road vehicle operator seat. On this purpose the development of a vibration active control seat prototype has been carried out. The effectiveness of the active control system has been tested in laboratory and with the seat positioned on a vibration test platform. As far as the control strategy is concerned, a 'mixed' solution turned out to be the most suitable, making use of a feedforward algorithm with a local feedback.
