A comprehensive electronic map generation system involving text/graph separation, vectorization and indicator extraction

摘要

This paper presents a comprehensive electronic map generation system by which paper maps are transformed into vector electronic maps. A process of generating electronic map is given in which tracing, text/graph separation, and vectorization are fused together. Therefore, the processing time are saved dramatically. According to the requirement of various applications and the properties of paper maps, the vectorization error can be controlled. Then, experimental results applied to urban maps are shown.
