Economic Evaluation of Material Recovery in Urban Area by Cost/Benefit Analysis

The rising prices of raw materials and the concerns of landfill space conservation have resulted in an increasing interest in the recovery of valuable items in the waste streams. In recent years, the focus has been changing in response to increasing public concerns with the related benefits and costs which might be of significance in teh privatizatio of those material recovery facilities. Recognition of the integrated value of material recovery would also present a new perspective in resource conservation. This apepr applies a thorough cost/benefit analysis as a base to support future solid waste management privatization analysis.
