The practice of 100percent continuous casting production at WISCO NO.3 steelmaking plant in half a year since start-up

The start up of continuous casters at No.3 Steelmaking Plant of WISCO started with fully continuous casting and great success on 10th Aug. 1996. The designed capacity of the first phase attained at the fifth month after start-up. The next aim is to fulfill the designed capacity of the second phase in another half year. Meanwhile, more efforts will be made to develop steel grades, to improve slab quality and to reduce production costs. This paper presents the outline of production, technologies and quality enhancement within half a year since start-up.
