SQD type long-distance high-angle upward belt conveyor is the "State Important Scientific Research Projects", It has been undertaken by Shanghai Branch China Coal Reasearch Institute. The main technical key problems of the project have been solved after several years' study and experiment. The inclination of this conveyor with ordinary belts to carry raw coal can rise from 180 to 250 This conveyor fills in the gaps in the domestic and has been popularized in China. This paper gives a brief introduction to procedures of study and practice of the high-angle belt conveyor by the author, and discusses the main technical key problems of this conveyor comprising the new-type deep-trough idler device, speed regulated fluid device, and special electric control device.
