Based on the experience of building a practical distributed computer system and a study of recent results of related research, a reliable distributed computer system architecture is proposed, which is characterized by flexibility and simplicity. By means of the fundamental theory of cellular automata and revisions on the practical requirements, a fault detecting and fault locating method and a synchronization method, which support flexible scheduling strategies for the reliable distributed computer system, are highlighted with the architectural point of view.
