摘要

The superconducting superheated granule (SSG) detector has been proposed as a WIMP detector. Progress made in fabricating an SSG detector based on the planar array superheated superconductors (PASS), possible strategies for energy discrimination, and recent tests of the device are reviewed. In particular the observation of the avalanche effect is discussed. This new development promises an energy sensitivity considerably better than previously envisaged.
