The particle discrimination capability of various scintillating bolometers hasbeen tested in the framework of the ROSEBUD (Rare Objects SEarch withBolometers UnDerground) Dark Matter Search Collaboration. These detectorsare well suited for dark matter searches. In particular, undoped sapphire hasshown high light yield at very low temperature and low particle discriminationenergy threshold. We will report on an estimate of the quenching factor inthe heat signal for a scintillating bolometer made of this material, and we willpresent as well the prospects of the ROSEBUD experiment.
