A RELAP5-3D model has been developed for the RBMK Kursk 1 Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). The primary features of this model are the three-dimensional neutron kinetics model of the reactor core and the user subroutine that generates the neutron cross-sections for the neutron kinetics. This subroutine contains the neutron cross-section libraries that were developed by Russian Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" for use in the Russian STEPAN/KOBRA calculations. The implementation of the three-dimensional neutron kinetics model into the reactor core is described along with the results of comparisons and sensitivity studies done to validate the accuracy of this representation.
