All places on the earth where downwarping occurs and which are filled with sedimentary rocks can be named sedimentary basins. All sedimentary basins should contain oil and gas. The theory of sedimentary basins is derived from 40 years of oil exploration practice in China and is in turn the basis of geologic theory for oil and gas exploration.
