REMOTE SENSING APPLICATION RESEARCH OF MINERAL RESOURCE INVESTIGATION IN THE TARIM REGION, CHINA

摘要

With the deepening of petroleum exploration, the Tarim Basin is becoming a key region of oil-gas exploration and one of the principal energy bases in China today. So, the exploration of the Tarim Basin is an improtant step of strategical transferring of the national constructuion from the east to the west. This program attracted the backbone remote sensing geologists in geologic exploration field of China today. They integrated satellite TM and MSS images and adopted multiple kinds of research methods to study and evaluate the mineral resources and geologic environment in the margin of the Basin and its surrounding areas generally and systematically for the first time, finally, more than one hundred favorable areas and tens of target areas were outlined and considerable amount of principal mineral resources were evaluated.
