While several studies, both mathematical and experimental, have been made on pre-twisted bars of rectangular cross-section in order to determine their bending and torsional free vibrations, very few studies exist on axial vibrations. The paper reports the experimental results carried out with twisted bars having different shapes, using a measurement set which takes into account the constraint conditions. The values observed are then compared with those determined theoretically, by other researchers. The analysis of the results shows a good agreement between the experimental and theoretical values.
