摘要

The development of analytical modeling of the mechanical behaviour concerning lateral vibrations of hydrogenerators is presented as a support for the establishment of predictive maintenance procedures. A computational program, which uses the Finite Element Method to model the shaft-disc-bearing rotating system is described. The program returns the natural modes of vibration for the system under analysis, using the QZ algorithm (a generalization of the QR algorithm), to solve the associated eigenproblem. A large size hydrogenerating unit of a brazilian power plant is modeled to illustrate application and performance of the program.
