The determination of process parameters within liquid/liquid two-phase flows including droplet size, velocity and mass transfer rates between the inner and outer phase is of basic interest for a consolidated understanding and an improved modelization of Liquid/Liquid-Extraction. Against this background a combination of the laseroptical measurement techniques Phase-Doppler-Anemometry and Rainbow-Refractometry will be discussed. Theoretical studies and experimental results will underline the improved possibilities of flow measurement offered by these advanced measurement devices.
