Evaluation of X-ray induced partial discharge technique for epoxy resin insulation systems

Finally, it is considered that the results obtained using the XIPD technique described in this paper appeared to be extremely encouraging and that this approach provides a suitable method for discharge location. Further tests using larger bushingtypes have also been made with similar positive findings. It is believed that the technique shows promise for its more widespread use as a forensic tool for the investigation of partial discharge in these materials.
