Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) is a useful tool for predicting the response of complex structural or acoustical systems to high frequency random disturbances. As a critical parameter of SEA, coupling loss factor (CLF) has interested many researchers on its derivation and properties. In this paper, the damping effect on coupling loss factor is studied in order to find a possible factor for the uncertainty in SEA predictions. It is shown that coupling loss factor has a strong dependence on the system damping when it is below a certain value of damping loss factor.
