Tram traffic is closely related with the generation of noise and vibration phenomena observed within the tram lines. These phenomena are closely depended both on the type of vehicle and track, but also on their technical condition and driving parameters of the tram. The decision to repair, upgrade or reconstruction of tracks also has in view minimizing low frequency noise and vibration generated by trams. A significant number of available track technology provides the basis for research to determine the characteristics of the dynamic vehicle-track interaction. Such studies allow to optimize working conditions for particular types of trams and ranking the railway construction from the point of view minimizing noise and vibration phenomena generated. Presented paper contains the results of complex research of noise and vibration phenomena carried out on two classic tramway sections in Poznan (PL). The experimental research methodology based on elements taken with the recommendations ISO 3095. During the pass-by test of the chosen type of modern trams, low frequency noise and paraseismic vibration were recorded. The aim of analysis were carried out in aspect of relationship between low frequency sounds and paraseismic vibrations generated by trams with taking into account the speed of ride and the dynamic susceptibility of the rack. Basic information about the track resonance structure was prepared in impact test. The test results are allowed to determine the level of interdependence between vibroacoustic phenomena and chosen combination of trams and classic-designed tracks.
