Torsional vibration phenomena are common in the rotor system of automobile, navigation and aerospace. To suppress the adverse effects caused by torsional vibration, a torsion quasi-zero-stiffness vibration isolator (TQZS-VI) is proposed in this paper, which is composed in parallel structure with a rubber bearing and a torsion magnetic spring (TMS). The TMS produces the negative stiffness to counteract the positive stiffness provided by the rubber bearing. Firstly, the magnetic torque expression is given according to the principle of Maxwell normal stress, and the torsion magnetic stiffness of the proposed vibration isolation system is obtained. The characteristics of the torsion magnetic stiffness are numerically analyzed through finite element simulations. Then, the influence of TMS geometric parameters on the magnetic torque and stiffness are analyzed. Finally, the vibration isolation characteristics analysis and numerical simulation of the torsion vibration isolation system are carried out. The results show that the proposed TQZS-VI can effectively isolate the low frequency micro-amplitude torsional vibration, reduce the natural frequency of the system, and widen the vibration isolation band. The damping characteristics of the vibration isolation system are further improved.
